  2. Karr is a sick fick, whether he killed that little girl or not. Don’t be envious of that. Try to find someone to help you clean up your life and get a job. Quit whining.
OK John. Perhaps I was a bit harsh on you. You should be commended for trying to get control of your drinking problem. It’s tough, I know. I apologize to you. Seriously. I just got worked up by that sleezebag Karr. I hate pediphiles and sickos that want to be pedophiles.

    Morning fellow Troops in Hoops.

First up, to mcgraininspain: If you assume I have "fallen out" with someone just cause we have a disagreement on the policies, direction and tenor of the Labour Party in the 90’s you really are quite the bit away from truth. I have disagreements with people all the time …. I love a good argument, especially on politics. It doesn’t change the fact you and I are Family.

To the rest of the Family today, I say only that my key points from 10:19 last night were NOT the political ones (as I’m fairly sure even those who criticised me for them are aware) but those relating to the task I believe we must assume responsibility for; the clearing of the Augean Stables of the SPL, SFA and SPFA, as well as continuing to tackle the scandalous bias of the media.

Scottish Football has never been more ready for a revolution, and I disagree with Gordon_J who says it will never reform from within but only after pressure from without. I think that’s a cop-out, a way of keeping our hands clean and letting us focus on our own personal battles rather than plunging into a larger one.

The simple fact is, this is self defence. The longer the game in this country remains rotten to the core, the longer it will continue to hurt us. Look at the proposals to let us join the English Championship. Clubs down south, even those who might want us, know that means taking Rangers as well. Our interest lies in putting clear blue water between ourselves and our rivals, in whatever way we can, and I think a good way to do it would be to take them on for the good of the game.

We must make it clear at the outset, we are not seeking to take their place at the head table. We must demonstrate that we are not seeking to substitute a Hitler in blue for a Stalin in green; because yes, even we may be corrupted by the holding of absolute power. No; the structures are to be reformed for the good of all …… and if that means Berwick Rangers hold the same influence as Glasgow Rangers, if it means that Alloa have the same authority as Celtic, then that is what was intended in the begining, in the way the two US Senators from Rhode Island have the same votes in the House as the two Senators from California.

Most of all, we must resist the morons like Hugh Keevins who insist the Scottish game is whiter than white, but with the caveat that even if it were not, we would not want to dig too deeply in case we found out the truth because, in his own words "that would do far more damage to the game than a few dodgy decisions."

I refute that utterly. I refute the idea we should remain backward, our game bent and corrupt, because dragging the facts into the cold light of day would be too painful or embarrasing. When the playing field is level, when everyone has a fair chance of success within their own means, surely that is what everyone wants?

Why would the Hib’s, Aberdeen’s, Dundee Utd’s of the world not get behind such a campaign for sweeping change? Wouldn’t there be more to gain than to lose from leading it?

Clearly the worst of the offenders is Gordon Smith. In my opinion, of all the actions we can take early, the removal of Gordon Smith must be amongst our highest priorties. Forget for a second the fact the man is staggering unqualified for the job, that the SFA rejected its own "candidate profile" in making the appointment, although the lack of an "open process" to select someone is clearly something that could and should be challenged; forget that a second. Forget also the incompetence that saw our premier cup tournament go without a sponsor for a whole year and almost two.

Let’s focus on his naked favouritism, his flagrant disregard for the good of the rest of the game, his blue tinted vision.

Since taking office he has made public prouncements on Rangers four times, all in their favour, at times when serious questions needed to be asked about the club and the conduct of those within it.

The first time was upon taking office to find an investigation into Rangers sectarian singing at Inverness. He moved quickly to praise the club’s efforts to tackle this and said there was "little more Rangers could do" about the situation. This pre-dated the Famine Song ….. about which he is yet to comment.

The second time was to offer to postpone the Scottish Cup Final for the good of Rangers …. in total disregard of the whole of the game in this country, its repuation, its well-being, its financial security and its credibility. And he did this via a press conference, not by using any of the means at his disposal to consult other members of the Executive ….. some of whom were clearly goose-stepping along behind him anyway, as the President proved. During this sordid episode he went on to accuse the SPL of hindering the progress of the club …. after they had already taken the unprecedented step of extending the league campaign.

The third time was when he undermined his own national coach for his stance on BoozerGate by leaving the door open for two Rangers players to return to the Scotland set-up after Rangers own well publicised u-turn ….. after George Burley had slammed that door shut tight and statements from the SFA had confirmed the decision. This might be the most extraordinary episode of all, that he would contradict a decision which the organisation he represents has already made and announced in clear terms.

And now he praises Rangers for taking action against a cheat within their own club, a cheat who is merely following in the footsteps of other cheats from the same club, who has done no more or less than many before him ….. but of course, they are being lauded this time for taking "internal action." As has already been pointed out, not only is he praising a club which has ALLOWED a culture of cheating to develop, a culture of indiscipline to grow, in the stands, in the dressing room and now out on the field, but in the same statement he goes on to have a pop at a fellow member club …… which is the WRONGED PARTY in all this because his counterpart within that club has RIGHTLY called on the authorities to act harshly against the player.

We all KNOW if Lafferty had been wearing a green shirt instead of a blue one (God forbid) that Smith would have been in the papers for a very different reason, pouring venom down upon us.

This, of course, says nothing about his racist comments about "foriegn cheats" and other such bigoted outpourings from him whilst in office, nor the things he’s said in the past such as his notorious "we always tried harder against the Catholic teams" statement or his defence of the Billy Boys.

As I said, forgot all the political posturing. Concentrate on the steak, not the peas. My basic point last night was that we go after these people by rallying the rest of Scottish Football to combat what is now blatant favourtisim and corruption.

I think we’d have more allies than many believe.

  4. just because it’s a music for a limited amount of time doesn’t mean it has to sound like the music playing on the radio the night you get fired from your job as a night security guard at a cardboard box factory, as you speed down the highway on your way home, to discover that your refrigerator is packed full of cockroaches :-/
