It is supposed to remove harmful toxins from the body but our bodies are designed to remove toxins naturally so it is a waste of time and a scheme to get your money. In the 1930's to 1970's they used to put candles in children's ears and light them to get rid of earaches but lots of kids got their eardrums burned. It is quack medicine like magic potions sold out of traveling caravan tents a few hundred years ago. I wouldn't put anything on my feet that could do permanent damage to the skin.
